The New York Times reported yesterday that the Progressive Policy Institute has released a new study calling for the regulation of Napster and other tools which allow the sharing of copyrighted material over the net. This is just silly. Napster is nothing special, just filesharing with real-time indexing. Ban this, and you might as well ban the net. Andy Oram agrees.
