You can't go to Bath without visiting the Roman Baths, so that was our first stop. The Celts built a shrine near the hot springs dedicated to the goddess Sulis, and when the Romans arrived they noticed that Sulis bore a resemblance to their Minerva. The Romans built a temple complex to Minerva on the site in 60-70 AD, and built out the baths themselves over the next few hundred years.
