"A Gentle Warmonger"
Guess what happens when you put Cindy Sheehan and NC Senator Elizabeth Dole in the same room:
Peace mom Cindy Sheehan met Thursday with Sen. Elizabeth Dole, describing the N.C. Republican afterward as cordial, "a gentle lady" — and "a warmonger."
"She just expounded on the talking points of the Republican Party," Sheehan said after the 10-minute meeting in Dole's office. "She's 100 percent on board with the (Iraq) war and I'm 100 percent against the war."
But how does Dole remember the conversation?
"I (told her) I didn't want (her son's) sacrifice to be in vain . . . It's very important for her to understand that Iraq is an integral part of the war on terror. Then I went into the fact that 9-11 had changed everything."
Cordial? Maybe in a "please and thank-you" sort of way. A warmonger? Probably. Pedantic and condescending? Absolutely.
