Last Day

Today was my last day at the DNC. After 5 years and 352 days, it was time to call it quits.

I have never met a more dedicated and professional team than those who worked with me in the DNC Technology department. No job was too hard, no day was too long, and no goal was too high. Everyone did an extraordinary job under extraordinary circumstances, but I need to extend special recognition to my boss Doug Kelly, sysadmin Chuq Yang, and website editor Jesse Berney, who constantly impressed me with their drive and creativity. I will miss working with you all.

The success of the DNC's online operations — $70 million raised in 2004; #1 fastest growing site in Oct 2004 acc'd to Nielson ratings — is in large part due to Eric Folley's unbelievable programming skills (front end and back end). I've worked with Eric for more than 6 years and his dedication, his commitment, and skills are second to none. I'll miss working with him, but I am grateful to have him as a friend. There are too many good times we've had together in battle to list them here, but I'll just say that if I had to pick only one person to have on a team that had a mission impossible, that pick would be Eric. Best of luck in your next endeavor.

I'm sure that whatever you do next, you'll still be fighting for the good guys. But the DNC will surely have a difficult task filling the hole that your departure will leave. Best of luck!

Eric, it's been a pleasure to be working with you for as long as I've been at the DNC. The team we were on was one that legends are made of. We accomplished things that Fortune 50 companies can't even do. Hopefully our professional careers will cross again. I'd pick you to be on my team anyday. Best of luck Eric. I'm sure we'll be in touch.

Dude, my job sucks without Eric.
