Surrendering to the iPod Empire
Well, I finally gave in. After several years of bumbling around with my Rio Sport (which has a paltry .5GB of storage), I finally went out and bought myself an iPod. After spending a typically inordinate amount of time evaluating models, reading reviews, comparing prices, and philosophizing about the problem of consumer choice in post-industrial society, I realized that I just wanted a music player for now, so I passed up the option to watch time-shifted TV on a really tiny screen and went with the 8GB Nano. I spent yesterday throwing as many CDs as I could into iTunes, and now here I am, listening to "Mohammed" by the Dandy Warhols. Cool!
