Temptation Island: "Who will stay together?" Everyone. "Who will be torn apart?" No one. OK, am I the only one disappointed here? I mean, where's the emotional carnage?

Watching "Boston Public", I have to love the scenes of Guber driving to NoHo. I know that piece of highway. And even though Guber was screwed, I still loved the view.

The Washington Post is running a profile on Johnny Deep and Aimster.
A story on Jonathan Lebed in the New York Times raises some interesting questions about the stock market and the ways in which it is manipulated. Is Lebed the bad seed the SEC says he is? Doesn't seem so to me.

I went running this afternoon. It was a perfect day for a run: 40 degrees, no wind, mostly cloudy — a great southern winter overcast day. I took a new route, made a few discoveries (there is bamboo growing in my neighborhood!), and felt great when it was all over. Later, I drove the route and discovered I went 5.4 miles at a pace just under 10 minutes per mile. For me, that's pretty good!

During the election, I told anyone who would listen that, regardless of the attitude you had towards Clinton, you would miss his insight and intelligence when he was gone. Yesterday's press conference should prove that point to anyone even remotely paying attention. As Jake Tapper is too polite to say, Bush is an idiot.
"All Your Base Are Belong to Us". Groovy!

A long day's journey into the bowels of my laptop. After an abortive hard drive upgrade, I settled for an OS upgrade: Windows2000 for Windows98. Of course, that didn't go as planned either, since after reformatting my drive I realized I had just deleted a folder full of much-needed data that I had neglected to back up first. One database alone will take hours to recreate. Arrgghh!!

Well, I'm back up, hopefully for the duration. My DSL connection went out Friday night — worst possible timing, since I had a do a ton of work over the weekend for my day job. Primus kept telling me they were working on the problem, but I think they were stringing me along. Just by the timing of the failure and the resumption of service, I'm betting they had a hardware failure, and because they didn't have a backup, had to wait until Monday for the replacement. Not sure I really want to stay with a company that isn't able to handle outages and better than this — 60+ hours is a long time to wait.
