Charleston Post & Courier: Carolinas In Storm's Likely Path. Wow, being an owner of seaside property changes everything. I hope the beach doesn't wash away like it did three years ago…
I spent last night rewriting some of my remote administration code for this website. So here it is: suites.autoWebEdit. Use it in good health!
TIME Magazine: East Timor Braces for Independence Bloodbath. "Elements in the Indonesian army are prepared to go to any lengths to avoid giving up a fiefdom." Let me be clear: The Indonesian government is evil. Not misguided, deluded, or distracted — evil. 20 years ago the Indonesians killed 200,000 East Timorese — 1/3 of the population — after it invaded and tried to subjugate the island. Today, it continues to murder the Timorese as it attempts to alter or discredit the inevitable outcome of Monday's referendum — independence for the island of East Timor, it's birthright since 1975 when the Portugese ended its colonial occupation.
Washington Post: Gore Avoids Stance Against Creationism. This, of course, is really disappointing. I can perhaps understand the politics of taking this stance, but I'm still shocked. Of course, Gore might really believe that creationism deserves to be taught in HS science classes — if so, he drops more than a few pegs in my estimation. Meanwhile, just a few pages over: Fossil Find Aids Evolution Study.
